Whole Cornish Male Crabs
Whole Cornish male crabs (referred to as cock crabs by the local fisherman and shellfish merchants) are generally larger than the female crabs (nicknamed hens). We offer 1-1.3kg, 1.3-1.6kg and 1.6-1.9kg crabs as the total meat yields will be about 20-25% of the crab’s mass. So it doesn’t make sense you picking smaller cock crabs as there won’t be much meat to enjoy from them.
Cook live crabs immediately on delivery and eat within three days. Only strong crabs will be despatched live. However, we cannot guarantee survival and they are sent at the customer’s own risk. Any crabs that don’t arrive live are still safe to cook and consume. When ordering cooked crabs store at 0-5°C and consume within two days. Use pasteurised products by the use by date and within 2 days of opening. If freezing, please follow your freezer manufacturer’s instructions.
Weather, tides, seasonality and catch numbers can affect availability.
All weights are approximate; natural drainage and cook loss can occur.

1.0 – 1.3kg Live or Cooked – One Person Serving
1.0 – 1.3kg Cooked & Pasteurised – One Person Serving (Vacuum Packed with 28 day shelf life)
1.3 – 1.6kg Live or Cooked – One to Two Person Serving
1.6 – 1.9kg Live or Cooked – Two Person Serving
